    His Life Story

    Balkrishna Doshi, “the Indian architect”, turned 91 years old this past August, becoming a long-lived character in the field of architecture.

    Doshi has a dual citizenship. Having been born in Pune, India, he obtained the Indian nationality and the British Raj. At the time of his birth, Pune was under the command of the British government, which gave him his dual citizenship.

    At the end of his studies in architecture in Bombay, Doshi traveled to France to work in the studio Le Corbusier in Paris for three years.

    Then he returned to supervise the projects that the studio was running in India, and collaborated with Anant Raje and Louis Kahn, who were also developing projects in the area.
